Given that it’s International Women’s Day today, it would be remiss of us not to give a shout out to the woman behind Kooyar Wongi.
While Bill Bennell brings his vast wealth of Aboriginal culture and heritage management knowledge and experience to the table, Nerilee Boshammer certainly holds her own in the environmental management and community engagement space.
She combines a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and her EIANZ Certified Environmental Practitioner status with her natural flair for community engagement, event management, facilitation and communications. She just loves talking to people (probably too much), fostering relationships and building capacity for positive change. And it shows!
She also does the heavy lifting for our social media, website, client liaison, administration, etc, etc, etc. I mean, someone’s gotta do it right?!
When it comes to a commitment to environmental conservation and social justice, this woman really puts her money where her mouth is. She lives and breathes everything that Kooyar Wongi stands for. Culture. Community. Environment.
Most people who know her will tell you that she actively resists any fashion trend, swears like a sailor and has far too much of a propensity for Dad humour. But they will also tell you that she’s tough, no nonsense and works her tail off for what she believes in. She also dabbles a little in politics in her spare time, but we hope you won’t hold that against her!
Here’s to her and here’s to all of those outstanding women out there doing their best to contribute to positive change across the globe, no matter how insignificant that contribution may feel to them at the time. It all helps and it all matters!
‘Think equal, build smart, innovate for change.’
Happy International Women’s Day!
